Fire Cider

Image
Fire Cider has been made for centuries, if not much longer. It isn't really a tincture and there is a word for what it is, but I can't think of it right now so I will just call it a potion. It is supposed to boost the immune system, help with digestion, ease colds and keep you warm on those cold days of winter.  I never make it exactly the same, but there are key ingredients I use every time. Apple cider vinegar is the main ingredient. I always use organic unfiltered. The other key ingredients are horseradish, garlic, onion, peel and juice of a citrus fruit and some sort of hot pepper powder.   I always use horseradish root, but apparently there is also a powdered form that can be used. Normally I buy it on the internet and it is slightly expensive, but you don't need much and can freeze the rest for future use. This year I used orange peel and juice instead of lime for something new. Of course I used NM red Chile powder!  Other ingredients I added were ginger, turmeric,

Tamed Wild Seasonal Box #2

Image
I just realized #3 will be on the way soon and I hadn't said anything about #2! I was as impressed with the second box as I was with the first! Since I have already put it away I will just mention a few of my favorite things from it!  First off, I loved the seasonal journal again! So much great stuff in it!  Then there was this adorable set of mini gemstone carvings! The aventurine (I think) mushroom was my favorite, the shapes are standard, but the gemstone is random.  I love succulents and was happy with the Hen and Chicks plant which is one of my favorites!  I loved how adorable it was when I transplanted it into the pot and put it in the macrame hanger that were included with the box!  I know I have mentioned before how much I love the Tamed Wild card decks and this was no exception. Sure like a lot of them, this could be put into book form, but it is just cooler as a card deck, imo. This box included the Wild Moon deck! It contains 28 cards, one for each phase of the moon. O

Sage Goddess Labradorite Plate

Image
For the second time in recent months I had a dream about a magical crystal. Last time it was a rainbow fluorite tower or wand and this time it was a coaster sized larbradorite plate.   This is the part of the dream that I remember. Something could have went on prior to it, but I don't remember that if it did. I am sitting outside, upstairs on my yoga mat. In front of me on the mat is the labradorite plate and I am staring at it. I don't know if it was some sort of meditation or why I was doing that, but I felt that I had been doing it for a while, not hours, but like 20 minutes or more. Suddenly a white beam shoots out of the stone! It is similar to a laser beam and it shoots out about 4 to 6 inches. In the dream I am so happy! I was so happy that I actually woke up and thought wow, that was cool and immediately fell back to sleep. I don't know what time that happened and if I woke up 15 minutes later or hours later, but when I did I immediately remembered the dream. That

Mindful Souls Box

Image
A couple weeks ago Mindful Souls offered a deal to try their box, $25 including shipping. It is normally $38, so I thought I would give it a try and see how it compares to Tamed Wild.  The first thing on top of the box was this obsidian necklace which was a free gift for trying the box. Funny thing, the only thing I ever bought from MS was this necklace. I love obsidian and I have had many compliments when wearing it. I didn't at all mind getting another one, this one I will hang from my rear view mirror in my car.  After pulling up the papers I could see some items included with the box and the first thing I saw was this horrid thing!  I believe it is the tackiest dream catcher I have ever seen! The beads are plastic and it reminded me of something I might find in a bargain bin in some tourist shop along route 66 for $1. I remember thinking that I hope the rest of the items aren't this bad! It actually looks better in that photo than it does in person.  Next was Rosemary fra

Tamed Wild's first seasonal box finally arrived!

It was worth the wait!  Above are the small spells cards along with a bag for them! So cute! Just quick little spells that don't require much effort. I also really like the artwork on the cards, each one is different. Probably my favorite item from this box!  The above photo shows the workbook, which I will talk more about later in this post. Botanical hair rinse (calendula, rose and jasmine), the herb jar is comfrey (great for making ointments) and the little envelope contains beads for a pagan mala. I am not sure what the beads are made from, not plastic, seems like stone or glass. Too tiny for me and my old eyes, but I will make a mala with some larger beads I have and use the tassel. The jasmine and neroli soy candle and the jasmine body oil smell divine! Also, included an empty bottle for making your own potions!  Moonstone pillar and a sunstone! The pillar is a good size, about 4.5 inches and I had been wanting a moonstone pillar for months! I love sunstone too!  The new se

Lemurian Crystal Weirdness

Image
About a week ago I finally got around to putting a bail on my favorite Lemurian crystal so that I can wear it as a necklace and it can go everywhere with me! I did this using UV resin which I have used numerous times to add bails to crystals and other stones and it has always worked great! After letting it cure for a few days I tugged on it, tried to wiggle it and it was on there tight. I have a little makeup bag that I keep next to me in the living room and I keep some of my crystals in there along with other little things I often need like nail files and lip balm. A couple days later I take it out to wear it and the bail is not on there, it is laying in the bottom of the bag. Even weirder is that resin hardens and turns into a hard plastic, but there was no resin on the stone or on the bail. It was like it just dissolved! I can only assume that this crystal did not want to be a pendant and I will respect its wishes and instead if I want it with me it will be in a bag, my pocket or

Soothing Pod

Image
The other day I downloaded a free meditation app from the app store, soothing pod. I've not had much luck with free apps. Normally they either aren't very good or drive you insane with ads, so I didn't expect much. As it turned out, the good reviews were real and this app is a keeper as far as I am concerned! There are absolutely no ads on this app! There aren't even any in-app purchases, anything listed in the app is totally free for you to use!  There is so much in this app! Not just the meditation, but also music, sounds and bedtime stories! The top image is a screenshot of some of the sound section.  So far the meditations I have used are pretty short, like around 6 minutes, but there are many more that I haven't tried. They are very simple and yet I find them helpful compared to trying to meditate by myself. There are probably more complex ones, but I have just been using the beginner ones so far.  The music is also very relaxing and nice. There are many choi
