Mindful Souls Box

A couple weeks ago Mindful Souls offered a deal to try their box, $25 including shipping. It is normally $38, so I thought I would give it a try and see how it compares to Tamed Wild.

The first thing on top of the box was this obsidian necklace which was a free gift for trying the box. Funny thing, the only thing I ever bought from MS was this necklace. I love obsidian and I have had many compliments when wearing it. I didn't at all mind getting another one, this one I will hang from my rear view mirror in my car.

After pulling up the papers I could see some items included with the box and the first thing I saw was this horrid thing!

I believe it is the tackiest dream catcher I have ever seen! The beads are plastic and it reminded me of something I might find in a bargain bin in some tourist shop along route 66 for $1. I remember thinking that I hope the rest of the items aren't this bad! It actually looks better in that photo than it does in person.

Next was Rosemary fragrance oil. This claims to be (or contain?) essential oil in the directions on the side, but I feel doubtful due to being called fragrance oil on the label. OK, I have at least 2 bottles of rosemary oil already, but I might eventually use some of this.

Next was this cute little ceramic Buddha. It is small around 4 inches I would guess. I didn't measure it. I put it in my Buddha shrine niche.

The next item made the oil seem to make more sense so far as its inclusion.

An aromatherapy bracelet. Volcanic beads for oil and what the description describes as "white turquoise." There is no such thing as white turquoise, it is a term sometimes used for howlite or dolomite to make it sound more expensive. I actually like this bracelet though except for wishing the metal beads were silver tone instead of gold. While the oil now made more sense, when I read the box it warned that oil shouldn't be used on skin and if you used it on those beads and then wore it the oil would end up on your skin. The oil actually said it was for use in a vapor oil diffuser.

This might be my favorite item in the box. I love amethyst and have many amethyst necklaces, but not a double point one. I estimate the stone to be about 2 inches, so not tiny. However, as you can see some of the colored thread is already unraveling and I will have to glue them down before I wear it.

Lastly was this rose quartz tower. I have a lot of stones, but not a rose quartz tower so I was happy to see it. I estimate it to be about 3 inches, much smaller than the moonstone tower I received in my last TW box. Overall, nice though.

So do I feel like I got $25 worth? I think so. Although, I ask myself if I would have actually bought any of this if I saw it in a shop? That is hard to answer because it would depend on pricing and my other choices. Normally in my Tamed Wild box there is at least one thing that I absolutely love! Not so in this box, some liking, but no love! Most of the things in TW boxes come from small producers and are not mass produced. This box screamed mass production in China to me. Lastly, TW boxes are more witchy and MS is more new agey. I do a lot of new age stuff like meditation, but overall I am far more witchy. IMO, this box did not come close to the goodness of a TW box. I may try for one more month, but at the regular $38 it will likely be the last.
